You can choose either a Face-to-Face Assessment or an Online Assessment.

Prior to your assessment you will be screened using a pre-screener tool, this tool predicts the possibility of symptoms showing up in your assessment. You will also fill in a Parental Questionnaire and a form will be emailed for your child’s teacher. A schoolteacher or teaching assistant who knows your child well, can complete this form.

Once your pre-screener tools are in, a clinical record is set up for your child. We also assess your child’s mental health and wellbeing and whether assessment and treatment might pose a risk to their wellbeing and whether any additional support may be required during the assessment phase.

On the Day of assessment, you will have these pre-screening results and you will be asked some genetic health questions and family history. Once this is completed your ADHD assessment will begin.

Assessment typically last 1-2 hours and involves asking you both direct and scenario-based questions about both your school life and home life. What we are assessing is the presence of symptoms in a number of settings, this helps us establish symptom types, severity and when they may have started. We also look at the impact on your day-to-day life.

We use the Nice Gold Standard recommended Young Diva Semi-Structured Questionnaire tool and sometimes additional tools to gain a diagnosis and to score the severity of daily symptoms.

We may discuss with you and your child treatment options, non-medicine and medicine treatments will be explored to present you with a clear plan on how to treat your individual presentation of ADHD.

Once tested, you are a patient of the clinic for a year, and this allows us to work together on Young Development of Executive Function Skills. This work is highly valuable as it matches your symptoms to your executive function and allows us to work together to treat the most difficult symptoms first. This treatment is part of your package of care and incurs no extra costs. In fact, once you have paid for your ADHD Assessment there are no further charges, unless you opt for additional counselling alongside your treatment.

We support you every step of the way with a direct contact to your clinician by phone, text and email. Reviews every three weeks at no charge to you, medication titration and private prescription where needed, again there is no charge for this service. You also have the opportunity to text if needing urgent same day support.

Medication Titration is the process we use to get you the best medicine based symptom control and when you are at your most effective dose and stable, we will write a report for your Doctor. This report demonstrates how much you have improved from your initial assessment. We work closely with general practitioners and find that good demonstration of improvement coupled with lower anxiety, lower substance use and less need for anti-depressant therapy is an excellent example of improvement, and our patients agree.

We treat many patients that tell us they are able to turn their life around when treating their ADHD symptoms. Patients at risk of isolation, school placement loss and relationship breakdowns have all gone on to gain measurable improvement.

ADHD treatment from Pre-screening to Titration is a journey and this can take at least 6 months to get to titration. You will usually have a monthly prescription. The private prescription service is free and we do not charge for replacement prescriptions. Your prescriptions are also sent securely by post at no extra cost. However, the medicine product is chargeable and is set by a Medicines Tariff, we have no control over the prices and suggest you shop around and gain prices from your own local pharmacies.

We look forward to supporting you on your ADHD Treatment Journey, We are the Fiona Project and we are dedicated to ADHD and Autism Assessment and Treatment as a Not-for-Profit Organisation.
